Fort Myers Brewing Company is hosting Dog Days of Summer from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, featuring craft brews and frozen drinks, food trucks, live music, a prize drawing and fun for furry friends and their owners.

Celebrating International Dog Day and in recognition of the brewery’s 10th anniversary year, Fort Myers Brewing has released a limited-edition throwback T-shirt and glassware that pay tribute to the brewery’s first mascot, Scooch, the beloved late dog of founders Rob and Jen Whyte. On Aug. 26, a portion of sales on the limited-time merch will support the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

“Fort Myers Brewing has always been a place for both people and pets to meet new friends, and Dog Days of Summer is a celebration of that camaraderie,” said founder and owner Jen Whyte. “Those who have been with us throughout our brewery’s journey may recognize Scooch from one of our earliest logo renditions, so we’re excited to throw it back while raising funds for a good cause.”

Serving Southwest Florida for more than 75 years, the Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides refuge to more than 3,000 animals each year who are in need of compassionate care.

No Manches and Wicked Streatery will be serving local favorites throughout the evening, and Hat Trick will perform live at 7 p.m. The Wiggle Bar will be onsite with canine-friendly treats.

The event will take place at Fort Myers Brewing Company, 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, Suite 28, in Fort Myers. For more information, visit Facebook.com/FMBrew or call 239-313-6576.
