Fort Myers Brewing Company is marking the halfway point to one of its most popular beer festivals of the year, Oktoberfest, by hosting a Halfway to Oktoberfest celebration from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 that will feature limited-edition brews, German-inspired eats and live music.
Specialty beer releases are on tap for the occasion, including Hefeweizen, Oktoberfest, Dunkel and Tom Jordan. Hefeweizen is a traditional wheat beer. Oktoberfest is Fort Myers Brewing’s popular German Marzen, a traditional Oktoberfest-style beer with balanced malt flavors. Dunkel is a dark lager with notes of caramel and toffee, but very light and drinkable. Tom Jordan is a wood-aged doppelbock, playfully named after the German root of “bock” (goat) style of beer and G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) athletes Tom Brady and Michael Jordan.
Throughout the day, guests can taste dishes from local food trucks including Cositas Gourmet, Easy Cheesy and The Meat Cottage.
German tunes can be enjoyed in the evening with a live performance by Petra and Teresa from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by live music by David Rojas Jr. from 7 to 10 p.m.
Halfway to Oktoberfest festivities will be held at Fort Myers Brewing Company, 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, Suite 28, in Fort Myers. For more information, visit Facebook.com/FMBrew or call 239-313-6576.
