Taproom Beertender:

The Beertender position is an integral component of the Ft Myers Brewing Company team as the frontline and face of the company. These individuals will help to create uniquely different and genuine experiences with our guests. Beertenders should be able to skillfully execute all responsibilities of the taproom: beertending, POS operation, maintaining cleanliness, and accurate money handling. Beertenders must work collaboratively to support one another and provide a positive experience for all incoming patrons.

Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests to the taproom.

  • Accurately inputting orders, processing payments, completing guest transactions, and tendering proper change using GoTab POS.

  • Pours beers and serves guests following responsible alcohol service guidelines.

  • Completes all opening, ongoing, and closing side work.

  • Clear, clean, and set up tables, taps, kegs, and taproom.

  • Always maintain overall taproom cleanliness.

  • Checks identification of customers to verify age for purchase of alcohol per ABC requirements.

  • Works diligently to avoid breakage and loss.

  • Provides intimate brewery/beer knowledge for guests.

  • Efficient and professional communication with management to address any issues and special requests on a day-to-day basis.

  • Multi-task with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency.


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must be 21 years or older.

  • 1-2 years of food & beverage experience

  • Previous beertending experience in the industry

  • Has passion and a fundamental understanding of craft beer and its culture

  • Problem-solving ability

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Multi-tasking ability in a noisy, fast-paced, and distraction-filled environment.

  • The ability to work well under pressure.

  • The ability to frequently lift items over 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Tap Room Bar Back:

We are looking for an observant, efficient Bar Back who can work with other
staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt, seamless service. The Bar Back will assist in cleaning in the Tap Room, ensuring the bar is well stocked with glassware and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the Bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly. You should be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. To be a successful Bar Back, you should be passionate about working as part of a team to deliver excellent service to customers. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.

Bar Back Responsibilities:

●  Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.

●  Making sure To-Go beer coolers are properly stocked, rotated and full at all times

●  Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with ice, wine, and beer.

●  Changing out kegs, if needed. Move kegs between walk-in coolers.

●  Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing

soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.

●  Learning about FM Brew and our beers.

●  Speaking to customers, answering questions, directing complaints.

●  Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in the reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly.

●  Bathroom cleaning and restocking throughout the shift.

●  Other duties as assigned.

Bar Back Requirements:

●  High School Diploma or equivalent.

●  Must be over 21. Job may require beer tasting for quality control/training.

●  Courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance.

●  Knowledge of menu items.

●  Basic math and computer skills.

●  Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.

●  Observant and thorough.

●  Responsible, punctual.

●  Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays
